Whether it’s the Tea Party or the Occupy Wallstreet folks, people who take the time to march and protest do us a favor by speaking their truth. We should listen and try to learn. America has always attracted the best and brightest people, and the best and brightest ideas from around the world. It’s essential that we keep this tradition sacred. It makes life more interesting, and it makes America strong.

From my experience, it may be helpful to think of your mind as a muscle. You need to exercise and practice the things that you have learned in order to get the muscle in shape. You need to get rid of old habits of thinking. By training your mind, you can open yourself up to greater abundance. Simply focus on the positive outcomes you want to create, look for opportunities to manifest those outcomes in your interactions with others and the environment and take action. Monday, is the best day to make adjustments to the outcomes you want to create. Energetically, what you focus on expands. To attract greater abundance, you will need to shift the vibrational state of your being to a more focused level.

Change:

Front line leaders typically have the responsibility to:

  • Communicate the reasoning for the change
  • Help employees adjust to the change
  • Help employees make the change a reality
  • Adjust the way they are managing in response to the change
  • Be accountable for the results of the change
  • . . . And they still have to get their job done.

    Often change makes the front line leader’s job harder and if they aren’t sold on the long-term value of the change, the change just will not happen.

    Ironic, isn’t it? That your organization’s least experienced leaders have the most influence on the success or failure of your change initiatives?

    Throw in the fact that people naturally don’t want to change and it’s not surprising that workplace change can end up getting “enforced” rather than being adopted and improved over time.

    Veracious Leadership:

    Leadership is more than influence, it includes at least six characteristics that differentiates it from other types of leadership.

    Veracious Leaders are grounded with a firm belief in truth, they have a firm conviction that their course is the right action and that belief guides their actions. They leaded others to this conviction and beyond.

    Veracious leaders have vision, which becomes their guide to the future. Their reliance on truth affirms their actions. It is their conviction in this foundational belief that motivates them and results in their motivating others.

    Veracious leaders demonstrate initiative, they are first responders by nature recognizing the opportunity and investing their energy, integrity, and commitment to develop solutions. They don’t ask others to do what they are unwilling to do themselves.

    Veracious leaders are agents of change, they make a difference and their actions draw others to to invest themselves in their cause. Leadership by definition is accomplishing some worthy goal or task. The world is changed because of their commitment to make a difference.

    Veracious leaders attract followers. Their influence creates significant change in their followers and its the followers that create change in the world. They apply the power of influence on others both individually and collectively. Followers are drawn to their values and they adopt the leaders vision. They are able to gather a following and motivate people to action.

    Veracious leaders exercise integrity. They provide insight, initiative, influence, and a worthy goal. Their integrity and conviction ultimately determines the quality of a leaders impact. In a sense, this is the foundation of veracious leadership.

    Leaders must be deliberate and intentional if they are to be successful. Ground your convictions in veracity.

    Rebuild Morale!

    In these tough times, morale can take a hit for all sorts of reasons; and this can have serious consequences for your team.

    So what can you do to boost people’s morale?

    Keep in mind that, if you’re a leader or manager, your team’s morale starts with you. It’s up to you to be a good role model for your team. If your own morale is suffering, then it’s vital that you work on rebuilding your own outlook and attitude first.

    Start by identifying why your own morale is low, and then come up with ways to adjust your mental attitude.

    Often, this starts with action. For instance, perhaps your morale is down because your boss is pressuring you to do a good job, and is threatening to fire you if you don’t perform. You can make yourself feel more positive and in control of the situation by getting organized, and by achieving measurable goals that will put your boss at ease.

    Work on rebuilding your self-confidence. Remember, your team is always watching you: if you’re feeling positive and confident, they will too. Quick wins will also help build confidence – for you, and your team.

    Remain Focused on your Priorities

    Are You Mistaking Urgent For Important?

    Never confuse what’s urgent with what’s important. Don’t trick yourself into believing that just because something has to get done today that its status is automatically upgraded to important.
    Urgent matters are rarely important — and important matters are rarely urgent. Know the difference.
